I would like to start with an apology in regards to my absence. I have no justification for this besides my summer induced laziness which, if you think about it, is a quite viable excuse considering it plagues most pre-college students who have a fear of commitment and responsibility. So yeah, that’s where I am in life at the moment. College. It has been the most prevalent topic for the last few weeks due to orientation, opening accounts to pay tuition, enrolling in classes, touring the campus, and trying to find the perfect balance of productivity and leisure time for my class schedule. Don’t get me wrong, I am excited for college, especially the ability to reinvent myself. No I am not going to get a bunch of piercings and start buying eyeliner and black clothes in bulk (excuse the cliche) but I have decided that I want to simplify my style. I have found myself intrigued by minimal and laid-back style that it-girls, models, and bloggers execute with perfect ease and, what’s seems to be, an absence of effort. I shall provide some visuals like the good collegiate student I hope to be:
As you can see, I’m going for the basics-filled, loose pants, comfort-based, unoriginal, beach-y hobo look (no that is not a “boho” typo). I have started by purging my closet of all immature, “high school-esque” attire and have even invested in Birkenstocks… this change is for real you guys. I am committed. I will keep you guys updated on my style transformation and try to add some flare to this mundane topic in an attempt to keep you guys from falling asleep.
